Our Philosophy of Teaching

We believe it is important to value every child’s individual strengths and understand his/her struggles. We build rapport every child by learning about their unique interests and fostering engagement, which is key to their academic success. Our students learn that progress requires effort, patience, and perseverance. As a result, they adopt the skills and strategies necessary to become independent, lifelong learners.

About Christina

Christina began her journey teaching in 2013 when she graduated with a Master of Arts in Teaching (MAT) degree from the University of California, Irvine. Christina was a former 4th and 5th grade teacher in Northern and Southern California. Since then, she has worn many hats in the education field including designing her own lessons, teaching reading groups across all grade levels, and serving as a lead author/editor of English Language Design (ELD) in the educational publishing industry.

Christina started tutoring during her freshman year in college. As her schedule filled up year after year, she decided to take a step to make a larger impact in her community and leave full-time teaching and become a full-time tutor.
